Suitcase packaging: what we recommend

For safer transport, we strongly recommend protective external packaging — ideally a durable cardboard box of a suitable size for the suitcase.

Stretch film

Stretch film can be used for additional protection (e.g. for stabilisation, covering zips). It does not replace the protective outer packaging / cardboard box.

Compensation and terms

The packaging requirements and whether any damage is covered depend on the terms of the specific service / carrier shown in the calculation. Do not assume you are entitled to compensation — read the terms before completing your booking or ask us if you are unsure.

  • Place the suitcase in a suitable cardboard box, with padding to fill any gaps so it does not move around.
  • Protect wheels, handles and zips.
  • Remove old airline tags and barcodes.
  • Measure the weight and external dimensions only once it is in its final packaging, ready for collection.
  • Declare the contents accurately — especially for destinations outside the EU.

There is no single fixed price 'per suitcase'. The cost is based on actual details, such as:

actual weight and external dimensions (after final packaging)
volumetric weight, where applicable
number of items
available service (e.g. Standard / Express, where offered)
requirements for destinations outside the EU
available pickup / delivery method for the route
