Which countries can I send olive oil to?

DASH ships olive oil for individuals from Greece to the following 12 countries. Availability and restrictions may vary by destination and service.

How many tins can I send?

Up to 3 sealed 17-litre tins per recipient

This is DASH's general rule for personal shipments, not a legal or customs limit. For plastic containers, the quantity is checked for each specific shipment. Stricter restrictions may apply in certain countries or for certain services. For larger or commercial quantities, a separate check is required.

How should I pack the olive oil?

Correct packaging is mandatory. A tin or container cannot be shipped on its own. Sealed metal tins and sealed rigid plastic containers suitable for olive oil or food are accepted. Each container must:

  1. 1Be sealed and properly closed.
  2. 2Be placed in a bag, preferably airtight or securely sealed, to contain any potential leakage.
  3. 3Be wrapped in protective material: foam or bubble wrap.
  4. 4Be placed inside a sturdy outer cardboard box.
  5. 5Fill any empty spaces in the box so that the container cannot move around.

If you are sending multiple containers, protect them so they do not knock against each other.

  • Unsealed containers

For other restricted items, see the Shipping rules.

EU, UK and Switzerland

EU countries

Shipments to Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Sweden, Denmark, Spain and Italy are intra-EU and are not subject to import procedures. This does not mean that there are no rules: for foodstuffs and products such as olive oil, restrictions may apply depending on the country and service.

United Kingdom and Switzerland

They are outside the EU, so customs information and documents may be required. DASH helps you prepare the details your shipment needs. The outcome of customs checks and any taxes or duties cannot be predetermined.

Frequently asked questions about shipping olive oil

Can I send olive oil abroad?

Yes. DASH organises private shipments of olive oil from Greece to 12 European countries, provided that the oil is in a sealed metal tin or a sealed rigid plastic container suitable for food and is packaged as required.

Which countries does DASH ship olive oil to?

To Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Availability and restrictions may vary by destination and service.

How many tins can I send?

For private shipments, DASH generally handles up to 3 sealed 17-litre tins per recipient. This is a DASH service rule and not a general legal or customs limit; stricter restrictions may apply in certain countries or for certain services. If you are using plastic containers, availability and quantity are checked for the specific shipment.

What if I want to send more than 3 tins?

Larger quantities require a separate check and cannot be booked online as a private shipment. Contact us so we can look into what is possible.

How should I package the tin or container?

The tin or plastic container must be sealed, placed in a sealed bag, wrapped in foam material or bubble wrap, and placed in a sturdy cardboard box with any gaps filled. You will find detailed steps in the olive oil packaging guide.

Is a cardboard box required, or is the tin itself enough?

The tin or container on its own is not accepted. It must be inside a sturdy outer cardboard box, with protective material around it to prevent it from moving.

Can I send oil in a plastic container, glass bottle or bag-in-box?

Yes, in a sealed rigid plastic container suitable for olive oil or food, with the same mandatory packaging. But not in a glass bottle or bag-in-box. For this service, glass containers and bottles, bag-in-boxes or flexible bags (bag-in-box), and unsealed containers are not accepted.

What are the rules for sending olive oil to England?

The United Kingdom is outside the EU, so customs information and documents may be required. DASH helps you prepare the details needed for the shipment. The outcome of the customs inspection and any taxes or duties cannot be predetermined.
